Come join the Old Bridge Historical Society as it hosts its ninth annual Christmas at the Old Bridge on Tuesday, December 3 at 6:00 p.m. Everyone in the community, residents and visitors alike, are invited by the Old Bridge Historical Society to be a part of the tree lighting (6:00 p.m.), listen to holiday music sung by local musicians and then join in a candle-light community sing-a-long.

This free event (bring your own chair) takes place at the Old Bridge, 109 Shoreline Drive West, Sunset Beach NC. The annual crowd-pleasing rendition of Jingle Bells at the Old Bridge will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit!
To kickoff the evening, at 6:00 p.m. the switch will be thrown and the tree lighted. The musical program immediately follows. Holiday refreshments (think Christmas cookies, hot cider and cocoa) will be served throughout the evening. For adventurous ones, there will be fire pits for roasting marshmallows. Santa, Mrs. Claus and Puppy Santa will be present and ready to hear your Christmas wish lists. Back for a return engagement, the West Brunswick High School Chorus will perform holiday songs during the evening and at the conclusion of their performance, attendees will raise their voices in a community candle-lit holiday songfest.
Two things you might want to bring – first, please bring a beach/lawn chair to enjoy the program more fully. We don’t want you to stand. Next, bring one (or more) of your favorite recipes. Our current cookbook has been reprinted four times; so in 2020, the Old Bridge Historical Society will be creating an all-new 10th anniversary cookbook filled with special recipes by local and visiting cooks. OBHS is looking to have the cookbook packed with your delicious specialties. Bring the recipe with you that evening and give to an OBHS volunteer. Along with the title, ingredients and directions include your name, address, email and phone number. All submissions will be considered.
