Enjoy an entertaining and educational presentation at the Museum of Coastal Carolina. The Sandbar Lecture Series brings local experts to speak about topics ranging from our coastal environment to Outer Banks history. Sandbar lectures are free with Museum admission. Join Lindsay Addison for an in-depth look at North Carolina’s coastal nesting birds. We will tour the coast in photos, looking in on the coastal birds that nest on North Carolina’s beaches and in our marshes, such as Brown Pelicans, Great Egrets, and Least Terns. We’ll lean some fun facts about their life histories, what new research and management Audubon North Carolina is undertaking for their benefit, and how you can help to protect them.
Addison is a Coastal Biologist at the North Carolina State Office of the National Audubon Society. The mission of the National Audubon Society is Audubon protects birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow. More information about what initiatives they have in our state can be found on their NC website at nc.audubon.org.
