The Sandbar Lecture Series brings local experts to speak about topics ranging from our coastal environment to Outer Banks history. On Tuesday, June 28, Roger Shew will lecture on sea level rise and high tide flooding, which are accelerating along our coastal zone and into the Cape Fear River Estuary. Current inundation levels and future projections of rising waters will be used to illustrate the extent and potential economic impacts on our beaches, rivers, and ecosystems.
