Please don't take the goats. They add an air of mystery. They have made a place for themselves in an overpowering world. In a way they seem to belong to us who live here. It is comforting to know they were safe out there going about the business of being goats in this busy and often difficult world. Please, just leave something good alone.

It's a grey seal they like to rest on docks and flat beaches.
They are more common up north but he might have gotten a taste of southern shrimp

I have the book, along with Tales of the Silver Coast, and as a lover of Sunset Beach I must say the books are great. Mr Pope actually autographed my copy when I emailed him about it. The book is an easy read and opens up so many wonderful chances to look around and see the backstory of all the places you know and love.

I'm so glad the storm missed Sunset Beach. My uncle owns a house there that we have been visiting for many, many years. It seems Sunset is usually lucky enouh to not feel the brunt of any major storm, and for that I am thankful.

I have also vacationed on the intercoastal waterway for years and look forward to seeing the goats on every trip. With the current state of affairs in North Carolina, I certainly think the people in Raleigh have more pressing issues to consider than harassing a herd of goats that people like to see and aren't hurting a thing. LEAVE 'EM ALONE!!!
